Job Summary: The Higher Education Consultant plays a crucial role in providing personalized guidance to students, parents, and educational institutions seeking advice and assistance in higher education choices. This position requires in-depth knowledge of various academic programs, institutions, admission processes, and career paths to offer comprehensive consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Consultation and Needs Assessment: Conduct consultations with students, parents, or educational institutions to understand their educational goals, preferences, and academic backgrounds.
  2. Education Planning and Advice: Provide tailored guidance on suitable academic programs, courses, universities, and colleges based on individual aspirations, interests, and qualifications.
  3. Admissions Support: Assist students in the application process, including essay writing, preparing application materials, and meeting admission requirements for universities or colleges.
  4. Career Counseling: Offer career guidance by assessing skills, interests, and goals to recommend suitable academic paths aligned with desired career outcomes.
  5. University Liaison: Establish and maintain relationships with educational institutions, attending university fairs, and keeping updated on admission requirements and academic offerings.
  6. Financial Aid and Scholarship Assistance: Advise students on financial aid options, scholarships, and funding opportunities available for higher education.
  7. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, application materials, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Proven experience (2 years) working as an education consultant, academic advisor, or in a similar role within the education sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of higher education systems, academic programs, admissions processes, and career pathways.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and counseling skills.
  • Ability to empathize, understand diverse client needs, and provide effective guidance.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and educational advisory software/tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
